John G. Hofmann graduated from the University of Virginia in 1993, earning a B.A. in Psychology (with High Distinction). After university, he taught English in Fukui, Japan for three years, and then worked in the hospitality industry in Sydney, Australia for one and a half years.

Mr. Hofmann attended the Boston University School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, in 2002. During law school, Mr. Hofmann was a staff member of the American Journal of Law & Medicine and a member of the school's Constitutional Law Moot Court Team, which won Best Brief at the 2002 Craven Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition. After graduation, Mr. Hofmann served as a judicial law clerk for the Late Honorable John H. Mason of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. He was admitted to the Massachusetts bar in December, 2002.

Mr. Hofmann joined Gilman, McLaughlin & Hanrahan LLP in August 2005. His practice is concentrated in civil litigation, with particular emphasis on employment law, commercial law and real estate issues. He also has experience with bankruptcy law, copyright, personal injury cases, and landlord-tenant matters.

He currently resides in Newton, Massachusetts.
